London (Jan 2008) - Katherine Tulpa, the Association for Coaching's Chair, has been voted the coaching/mentoring person of 2007 in the leading coaching publication, Coaching at Work. In a random survey carried out in December respondents were asked to name their top three priorities for 2008, and the key achievements for 2007 along with their coaching/mentoring person of the year. Katherine shares the accolade with Anthony Grant, the Director of the Coaching Psychology Unit at the University of Sydney who is also an Honorary VP of the Association for Coaching. In paying tribute to Katherine's work those nominating her said:
"She is a huge powerhouse and has been instrumental in founding one of the lead professional coaching bodies, the AC."
"She really is an extraordinary human being. So many people head bodies for the kudos, yet she is completely selfless and focused on serving the industry and its coaches."
Those nominating Anthony said:
"His level of contribution via his writing and talks continues at a great pace and, more than this, he continues to be clear, concise and consistent in his view of coaching as a balance between theory and practice, with a strong emphasis continually on evidence-based practices."
"For some of the research he is leading around coaching and the books and articles he is contributing to the industry."
Katherine has been instrumental in leading the Association for Coaching since its start-up in the UK in 2002. In that time, it has grown to one of the largest coaching bodies in Europe, with more than 1,900 members worldwide. The AC has attracted many of the key names in the coaching world such as Sir John Whitmore, Professors, Anthony Grant, Cary Cooper and Stephen Palmer.
