The second annual conference of the Association for Coaching (AC) has proved such as success that all places have been sold well in advance of the event which takes place on Friday (24th March 2006).
Billed as one of the leading events in the coaching industry, the conference, entitled “Leading the Way”, has attracted 500 delegates from the UK and around the world. They will converge on the Victoria Park Plaza Hotel to hear some of the world’s leading authorities in the burgeoning coaching industry. These include Professor Cary Cooper and Gary Browning, Chief Executive of Penna plc - a leading consultancy in Human Capital Management.
“We are very supportive of the AC’s aims and values. The time is right to professionalise, and indeed fully legitimise the profession,” says Browning who will be one of the speakers on the AC’s ‘Expert Panel’ taking a range of questions from the floor.
“Ten years ago the big issue in business was technology, then outsourcing but today it is all about people; how companies attract and retain talent. CEOs and senior management are at last taking the people agenda seriously. This conference, ‘Leading the Way’ could not be more timely,” he added.
Clive Wilson, MD of Primeast, a consultancy focused on leadership, change and teamwork and a ‘Platinum Sponsor’ of the AC event, endorsed this view. “The conference is very well timed; coaching is an increasing part of what our clients are looking for,” says Wilson who will be given a keynote talk at the event.
He went on to add:
“As a company we play to our strengths in supporting clients with the delivery of effective leadership, change and teamworking. The Association for Coaching has recognised the importance of standards and ethics and is putting substance into what it does. It will be a vigorous and challenging event, a day to exchange robust ideas about the coaching profession.”
Katherine Tulpa, Chair of the Association for Coaching and the recipient of the Honorary Award for Influencing the Coaching profession states, “this will be our best event yet - one that brings together dedicated professionals who are leading the way and evoking significant change through coaching.”
